Men's basketball travels to Emory & Henry Wednesday

Harrogate, TN -- Following a week marred by inclement weather, the Lincoln Memorial University men's basketball team continues South Atlantic Conference play on Wednesday, Jan. 28, when the Railsplitters travel to Emory, Virginia to take on Emory & Henry. Lincoln Memorial enters the match up averaging 80.6 points per game while outscoring opponents by 5.1 points per contest, showcasing one of the more efficient and balanced teams in the conference. The Railsplitters are shooting 47.3 percent from the field this season and averaging 30.2 made field goals per game, while holding opponents to 44.8 percent shooting. LMU has also been effective on the glass, averaging 33.3 rebounds per game with a +1.6 rebounding margin, and has turned defense into offense by forcing 16.9 turnovers per game and converting those into 20.5 points off turnovers.

Defensively, Lincoln Memorial has been active and disruptive, averaging 10.9 steals and 4.0 blocks per game while committing fewer turnovers than its opponents. The Railsplitters' pressure has contributed to a +2.7 turnover margin and a steady flow of scoring opportunities in transition. From the perimeter, LMU averages 7.1 three-pointers per game, matching its opponents, while continuing to rely on efficient overall shooting and defensive stops to control the pace of play.

Offensively, the Railsplitters feature a deep and balanced scoring attack led by Walter Campbell, who averages 10.6 points per game while shooting 61.0 percent from the floor and pulling down 5.6 rebounds per contest. Nate Mims follows closely at 10.3 points per game, while EJ Smith adds 9.8 points per outing and has been nearly automatic at the free-throw line, shooting 90.3 percent. Jayden Spearman contributes 9.6 points per game and leads the team from long range, connecting on 36.8 percent of his three-point attempts, while Yassin Hussein provides efficient inside scoring at 8.3 points per game on 57.3 percent shooting along with 4.8 rebounds.

Additional scoring depth comes from Armon Jarrard and Drew Lewis, who each average 8.1 points per game, while Ashton Pennamon chips in 6.2 points and leads the team with 49 assists. Amhad Jarrard rounds out the balanced offense with 5.8 points per game while shooting better than 51 percent from the field. Defensively, Emmanuel James anchors the interior with a team-high 30 blocks and adds 3.6 rebounds per game. Lincoln Memorial will look to carry its efficiency, depth, and defensive intensity into Emory as it continues its push in South Atlantic Conference action against Emory & Henry.
