HARROGATE, TN - The Lincoln Memorial men's volleyball team opened the 2026 season with a 3-0 sweep of King (TN) on Friday night inside Mary Mars Gymnasium. The Railsplitters earned set wins of 25-20, 25-19, 25-11 to improve to 1-0 on the year.
LMU hit .384 as a team with 39 kills and held King to a .025 attack percentage. Axel van Baars led the offense with 12 kills while Johan Negron added nine kills. Roman Mahlerwein directed the attack with 32 assists, and the Railsplitters received solid back-row production from Mahlerwein (8 digs) and Zach Zian (7 digs). At the net, Oisin Walsh paced LMU with three total blocks as the Railsplitters controlled all three sets.
The Railsplitters return to Mary Mars Gymnasium on Saturday, Jan. 10 at 2:00 p.m. to host North Greenville University for Jersey Night.
