Harrogate, TN -- The Lincoln Memorial women's volleyball team is gearing up for a spooky South Atlantic Conference showdown, hosting Wingate University at Mary Mars Gymnasium on Friday, Oct. 30 at 6 p.m. Fans are encouraged to brew up their best costumes and fill the stands for Costume Night to bring some haunting home-court energy to support the Lady Railsplitters. Beyond the festive Halloween atmosphere, the matchup carries a bit of a vengeful kick, as Lincoln Memorial aims to settle the score after suffering a straight-set sweep on the road against Wingate in late September. Riding a wave of momentum, Lincoln Memorial enters the contest seeking its fourth consecutive victory.
The Lady Railsplitters will look to summon big performances from their heavy hitters to trick their opponents and treat the home crowd. Kaytlin Johnson leads the offensive assault with a team-high 298 kills and 331.5 points, alongside Finley Sparks with 161 kills and Jazmine Starks with 146 kills. Middle blocker Georgia Dobson provides a deadly efficient attack, posting 141 kills on a team-leading .418 hitting percentage. Setting up the spooky magic, Lauren Pickett commands the offense with 664 assists while also serving up 28 aces.
Defensively, Lincoln Memorial brings plenty of frightening resistance at the net and along the backline to ward off Wingate's attacks. Starks anchors the front line with a monstrous 78 total blocks, complemented by Dobson's 37 blocks. Digging up every stray ball to keep rallies alive, defense specialist Lauren Jacob leads the team with 325 digs, backed by Johnson's 227 digs and Pickett's 211 digs. With revenge on their minds and an energetic crowd behind them, the Lady Railsplitters are ready to put on a show and turn this Halloween eve clash into a nightmare for the visiting Bulldogs.
