Women's volleyball falls to Anderson at home

Harrogate, TN -- The Lincoln Memorial women's volleyball team fell to the Anderson Trojans at home on Saturday, October 3, 3-1. The Railsplitters started strong in the opening frame, claiming a hard fought 25-22 victory in the first set. Lauren Pickett and Sarah Robbins helped jumpstart the early offense alongside teammates Kaytlin Johnson and Finley Sparks, navigating tight exchanges against the Trojans before a late push secured the set.

Anderson responded decisively in the second set, edging out Lincoln Memorial 25-23. Jazmine Starks and Georgia Dobson provided key kills to keep the home side within striking distance, but the Trojans capitalized on late errors and crucial scoring sequences to level the match. The third set mirrored the intense battle of the previous frame, with Anderson once again squeaking out a 25-23 win. Eliza Hicks sparked a late rally with a pair of service aces, while Pickett contributed heavily through assists. Defensively, the Railsplitters held strong near the end of the set with the defense being orchestrated by Starks and Lauren Jacob, though the Trojans ultimately pulled ahead to take a two sets to one lead.

Anderson sealed the match in the fourth set with a 25-16 decision. Despite early contributions from Pickett and Johnson to establish an initial advantage, the visitors mounted a powerful offensive surge behind consistent play from their attackers and defensive stops to close out the contest and secure the road victory.
