CAMBRIDGE, MA - No. 20 Lincoln Memorial men's volleyball opened play at the Harvard Invitational on Friday afternoon with a 3-0 setback to No. 8 BYU (21-25, 19-25, 19-25) at Hart Nautical Galleries at MIT.
The Railsplitters battled throughout the match and kept the opening set within reach before BYU used a steady attack to close out the frame. The Cougars maintained momentum in the final two sets, while LMU continued to fight for points on both sides of the ball.
Johan Negron paced Lincoln Memorial with nine kills and added two service aces. George Stevens finished with five kills, and Oisin Walsh anchored the net with a team-high five total blocks. Axel van Baars contributed two aces, while Inbar Shachar directed the offense with 18 assists.
Lincoln Memorial continues tournament play on Saturday, Feb. 7, with a 4 p.m. matchup against Merrimack. The match will be streamed on ESPN+, with the link available on the LMU men's volleyball schedule page.
