Cleveland, TN -- The Lincoln Memorial track and field program traveled to Cleveland, Tennessee, this past Saturday to compete in the Lee Last Chance meet hosted by Lee University. The Railsplitters delivered standout performances across multiple disciplines as they looked to solidify their standings on the national stage.
Luis Boerkey led the way in the men's 800 meter run, securing a fifth place finish with a time of 1:49.83. The effort set a new school record and earned him an NCAA provisional qualifying mark. In the women's 800 meter run,
Theresa Brosthaus also posted a high mark, finishing eighth and clocking in at 2:10.19. Her performance established a new school record for the Railsplitters and successfully met the NCAA provisional qualifying standard.
The middle distance success continued with
Joel Boerkey, who competed alongside his brother in the 800 meter run and took twelfth place with a time of 1:52.23. In the sprints,
Vincent Quilici represented Lincoln Memorial in the 400 meter dash, crossing the finish line in 47.88 seconds to earn seventh place overall. The distance and hurdle events saw
Jaxson Branham navigate the 3000 meter steeplechase to a tenth place finish, recording a time of 9:24.84. Additionally,
Connor Chandler battled through a competitive field in the 5000 meter run, finishing twenty-second with a time of 15:42.46.
