SUNSET BEACH, N.C. -- The Railsplitters fired an even-par 288 in the final round of the annual Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate on Tuesday, but they were unable to make any vertical move up the leaderboard, completing the event in sixth place. Lincoln Memorial finished with rounds of 290 and 288 for a two-over par, two-day total of 578 at the Dan Maples Course, one of three courses located on the Sea Trail Golf Resort in Sunset Beach, N.C.

Mars Hill rallied from five shots back to capture the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate crown, following up a one-over par 289 on Monday with a four-under par 284 on Tuesday afternoon. The Lions' 573 was one stroke better than the Wingate Bulldogs, who finished with 291+283=574 (-2). Mount Olive took third place with 289+286=575 (-1), while North Greenville and Queens earned a share of fourth with even par totals of 576. Coming in behind the Railsplitters, Pfeiffer (578; +2), Southern Wesleyan (579; +3), Barton (585; +9) and Emmanuel (589; +13) rounded out the top 10 of the 19-team field.

Braden Galyon (Powell, Tenn.) narrowly missed out on All-Tournament honors, backing up a two-under par 70 with a one-under 71. Galyon was one of four players in the field to finish two under par cumulatively on the par threes while he was one of only seven players to record an eagle. Galyon tied for fifth, his second top five in the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate as he tied for first in the 2013 event.

Junior
Connor Froning (Knoxville, Tenn.) was the biggest mover of the day as he bounced back from a four over 76 in the opening round with a three-under par 69 Tuesday. Froning finished with a one over 145 to earn a share of 21st place. Sophomore
George Duncan (Dumbartonshire, Scotland) was only two shots shy of that mark as he recorded 71+76=147 (+3) to grab a piece of 29th place.

Kurtis Campbell (Saint Lazare, Quebec) posted 73+75=148 (+4) to tie for 36th, while junior
Will Wright (Knoxville, Tenn.) carded 78+73=151 (+7) for a spot in 54th.

Competing as individuals, senior
Rand Wasson (Norris, Tenn.) finished in a tie for 11th and classmate
Tre Mullins (Big Stone Gap, Va.) tied for 58th. Wasson, the reigning SAC Player of the Year, recorded 74+69=143 (-1), while Mullins accounted for 77+75=152 (+8).

Wingate's Benedict Gebhardt and Tyler Stone finished 36 holes tied atop the individual leaderboard, but Stone secured medalist distinctions with a birdie on the first playoff hole.

The Railsplitters return to the course on October 13 for the first round of the State Farm Intercollegiate, the final event of the fall portion of the schedule. Lincoln Memorial is scheduled to host that event at Woodlake Golf Course in Tazewell, Tenn.
