Quick Hits:
-The Railsplitters combined to score 72 runs over five games this past weekend at Lamar Hennon Field, sweeping a doubleheader from the Ohio Valley Fighting Scots on Thursday before taking all three games from the Tiffin Dragons on Friday and Saturday. Lincoln Memorial defeated Ohio Valley 16-1 in game one and 19-0 in game two. In game one, the Railsplitters collected 20 hits for the first time since 2013, while game two saw Lincoln Memorial put up 15 runs in the first three innings to cruise to the victory. The Railsplitters hit four grand slams in that three-game set against Tiffin in the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
-Senior outfielder Wes Neiderland (Thompson Station, Tenn.) had a huge week for the Railsplitters, hitting .579 with 11 RBI, five doubles, one triple and a home run to earn AstroTurf SAC Player of the Week laurels. The highlight of his week came in game one against Tiffin, when he went 4-for-5 with a grand slam, two doubles and eight RBI, becoming only the fourth player in program history to collect at least eight RBI in a game. In nine appearances this season, Neiderland is hitting .412 with 13 runs scored and three stolen bases.
-The Railsplitters continued to wreak havoc on the bases last week, recording 17 stolen bases over that five-game set to drive their season total to 25. That ranks fourth in the South Atlantic Conference and is well ahead of the pace set by last season's team. The Railsplitters had 43 stolen bases as a team last season, led by seven apiece from Logan Augustine (Urbandale, Iowa), Danny Valdez (Orlando, Fla.) and Scott Miller. Seth Hunt (Knoxville, Tenn.) has already surpassed that trio with nine on 10 attempts. The program's single-season record for stolen bases is 143, which was set by the 1996 team.
-The Railsplitters are ranked fifth in the SAC with a 3.53 team earned run average. Freshman left-hander Ethan Elliott (Knoxville, Tenn.) has been dominant in his two starts for Lincoln Memorial, posting a 1.93 ERA with 19 strikeouts and just 11 hits allowed over 14 innings. The Knoxville, Tenn. native has started his career with back-to-back wins, including a complete game against Tiffin. Brandon Jean (Franklin, Tenn.) and Matt Mullenbach (Urbandale, Iowa) have served as the Railsplitters' other weekend starters this season. Jean is 1-1 with a 6.55 ERA and nine strikeouts over 11 innings, while Mullenbach is 0-0 with a 4.82 ERA and nine strikeouts in 9 1/3 innings.
-The Railsplitters are hitting an absurd .594 with the bases loaded this season with a ridiculous 19-for-32 mark. Neiderland is 4-for-4 in those opportunities, while Eric Kalman (Brooklyn, N.Y.) is 4-for-5. Jean Rodriguez (Caguas, Puerto Rico) is 3-for-4 with the bases loaded.
-Lincoln Memorial finished fourth in the SAC last season with a 15-12 league record.

Notes on the Trojans:
-Anderson enters the weekend having lost three of its last four games. The Trojans dropped two of three last weekend against Winston-Salem State before being bashed at Erskine 18-7 on Tuesday to fall to 4-7. Anderson has yet to record consecutive wins this season.
-Pitching has mainly been to blame for Anderson's early-season troubles, as the Trojans are ranked 10th out of 11 South Atlantic Conference teams in earned run average (6.58) and batting average against (.323). Junior right-hander Chris Ayers has been an exception to that, as he is sporting a 1.86 ERA with 12 strikeouts over 9 2/3 innings. Junior lefty Nick Contafio leads the team in innings pitched with 10, compiling a 4.50 ERA, three strikeouts and 14 hits allowed over that span. Thomas Smith has made two starts and tossed 9 1/3 innings, serving up 10 runs and 15 hits during that stretch.
-The Trojans are batting .286 as a team with a .359 on-base percentage and a .441 slugging percentage, which ranks fifth in the South Atlantic Conference. Anderson has hit nine home runs and 28 doubles through 11 games. The Trojans struggled offensively in that weekend series against Winston-Salem State, though, combining to score just nine runs over that three-game set. Anderson was shut out in game two and held to a mere three hits, but the Trojans have racked up double-digit hits seven times this season.
-Four seniors lead the way offensively for the Trojans. Steven Cooper is batting .366 and slugging .610 with a team-leading seven doubles, 15 hits and 13 RBI. Kyle Bailey is sporting a .350 batting average and a .447 on-base percentage with four doubles and two stolen bases. LJ Newman is hitting .351 and slugging .595 with three doubles, two homers and nine RBI. Garrett Bernardo has scattered it all over the field with five doubles, a triple, a home run and eight RBI. Sophomore Michael Rochester leads the Trojans with three home runs in 19 at-bats.
-The Trojans finished sixth in the South Atlantic Conference last season with a 14-15 league record. Anderson is being led by skipper Joe Miller - winner of over 400 ballgames - for the 19th season

Series History:
-Anderson holds a narrow 8-7 lead in the all-time series with Lincoln Memorial thanks to wins in four of the past five meetings. Last year's series was limited to only two games by weather, and the Trojans swept that doubleheader to end the regular-season schedule by scores of 4-1 and 2-1 in Anderson, S.C.
-The Railsplitters lost two of three to the Trojans at Lamar Hennon Field in 2014 in a series that featured a whole lot of scoring. Lincoln Memorial won game two 8-6, but dropped the other two games 13-5 and 15-13.
