HARROGATE, Tenn. – The LMU women's tennis team improved to 8-2 on the year with the 7-2 win over Illinois-Springfield Thursday afternoon.

LMU picked up wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. At No. 2, Johanna Delisse (Oss, The Netherlands)/Julia Loos (Frankfurt, Germany) defeated Kena Bere/Kaitlyn Thornhill 8-5 and at No. 3 Marta Pinol (Tivenys, Spain)/Roksolana Prudyvus (Lviv, Ukraine) got by Danielle Mendoza/Meagan Flight 8-3.

In singles play, LMU won five of the six flights. At No. 1, Delisse bested Jane Carter 6-3, 6-2 while at No. 2 Pinol defeated Sharon Danquah 6-2, 6-0. Loos won over Thornhill 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3 and at No 4 Prudyvus defeated Bere 6-3, 6-3. At No. 6 Angelica Solano (Bogota, Colombia) blanked Mendoza 6-0, 6-0.

LMU hosts Young Harris Saturday at 2 p.m.
