GREENWOOD, S.C. – After opening with a 15-over par 303 in the morning round, the Lincoln Memorial University men's golf team fired a 293 in Monday's afternoon round to move into a tie for sixth place through the first 36 holes of the Bearcat Golf Classic at Greenwood Country Club. The Railsplitters are 11 shots behind Lander, who leads the 18-team field following rounds of 295 and 285.
 
Lincoln Memorial is tied with South Atlantic Conference foes Brevard and Lenoir-Rhyne, while fifth-place Anderson has a two-shot cushion on the Railsplitters. LMU is also just four strokes back of fourth-place Coker and seven strokes behind third-place Georgia College.
 
Freshman Tyler Harvey (Markham, Ontario) led the Railsplitters and is tied for 13th place after shooting rounds of 74 and 72. His two-over par total of 146 is two strokes ahead of Harry Boyle (Bedfordshire, England), who is tied for 22nd place following rounds of 75 and 74.
 
Sam Broadhurst (Nuneaton, England) is tied for 33rd place, as he bounced back from an opening-round, five-over par 77 with a one-over par 73. George Duncan (Dumbartonshire, Scotland) also rebounded nicely from a 77 in the morning round by firing a 74 in the afternoon to hold a share of 42nd place.
 
Brady Davis (Harriman, Tenn.) rounded out the Railsplitters' showing by shooting rounds of 81 and 78.
 
Lander's Michal Pospisil is sitting atop the individual leaderboard with a 70 and a 67 – the low round of the day by any player in the field. Anderson's Jake Miller is a distant second with a two-under par total of 142, while Barton's Justin Plane is third with a one-under par total of 143.
 
The final round of the Bearcat Classic comes to a close on Tuesday afternoon.
