JEFFERSON CITY, TN – It was a hard fought match lasting almost five hours, but host Carson-Newman outlasted the LMU women's tennis team 6-3 in a South Atlantic Conference match Tuesday afternoon.

The Eagles took a 2-1 match after doubles play as they won at No. 1 and No. 2 by 8-4 margins. LMU's Angelica Solano (Bogota, Colombia) and Javiera Gonzalez (Santiago, Chile) remained undefeated in SAC play as they outlasted C-N's Lindy Tatum and Sydney Ledington 9-7.

LMU picked up wins at No. 2 and No. 6 singles, but the No. 1 and No. 3 flights were closely contested as well. At No. 2, Marta Pinol (Tivenys, Spain) picked up her 10th win of the season as she won over Alisha Liashova 6-3, 6-3 while at No. 6 Solano also picked up her 10th win as she defeated Ledington 7-6, 6-1. At No. 1 Ali Harris defeated Johanna Delisse (Oss, The Netherlands) in three sets 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 and at No. 3 Jill Corsato defeated Julia Loos (Frankfurt, Germany) 7-5, 6-3.

LMU will next play at Lenoir-Rhyne Friday at 2 p.m.
