HICKORY, N.C. – The LMU women's tennis team closed out the 2016-17 campaign with the 5-4 South Atlantic Conference win at Lenoir-Rhyne Thursday evening. They end the season with an 11-7 overall record and a 5-6 SAC record.

LMU took two of the three doubles flights. At No. 1, Priscille Bulandres (Markham, Ontario, Canada) and Marta Pinol (Tivenys, Spain) defeated Julia Ponomareva and Sara Kalkenova 8-3 while at No. 2 Johanna Delisse (Oss, The Netherlands) and Julia Loos (Frankfurt, Germany) defeated Emily Murchland and Taylor Frederickson 8-0. The duo of Angelica Solano (Bogota, Colombia) and Roksolana Prudyvus (Lviv, Ukraine) fell in a tiebreaker at No. 3 to Marta Escanero Funes and Sophia Aguilar di Camillo, 9-8.

In singles, LMU won at No. 3, 4 and 6 to claim the 5-4 victory. At No. 3, Gonzalez defeated Murchland 7-6, 3-6, 6-3 while at No. 4 Loos defeated Kalkenova 6-3, 6-2. Solano picked up her 14th win of the season and ninth in SAC play with the 6-2, 6-0 win over Aguilar di Camillo. The No. 2 and No. 5 flights went to three sets, with Pinol falling to Funes 7-6, 4-6, 6-4 at No. 2 and Prudyvus falling 0-6, 6-4, 6-4 to Frederickson at No. 5.

It was the final match for seniors Roksolana Prudyvus and Priscilla Bulandres.
