WINGATE, N.C. –Lincoln Memorial University's baseball team, winners of nine straight, open South Atlantic Conference play at No. 14 Wingate (10-2) over the weekend at Ron Christopher Stadium. The Railsplitters (10-2) are rolling in all facets as evidenced by an average of 14.2 runs per game during their win streak. The team has outscored opponents 128-31 during that span as well. Wingate also performed strong in nonconference play but lost its most recent game 5-4 to Belmont Abbey at home on Tuesday.

- LMU has scored at least 10 runs seven times during its nine-game win streak, including 10-6 to finish off a home sweep of Lake Erie on Monday and 13-3 at King Tuesday.
- Tuesday's game started as a pitcher's duel as both LMU and King were scoreless through four innings. However, the Railsplitters torched King relievers for 13 runs over the next three innings, including a seven-run sixth. Hits were tied at 10, but Railsplitter batters drew seven walks and were hit by a pitch five times.

Logan Augustine remained scorching hot by going 2-for-3 with three runs scored and a pair of walks and an RBI and reached base for the 38
th straight game dating back to last season. The first baseman is 7-for-9 in the past four games and has reached base safely in 16 of 18 plate appearances over that span with six stolen bases. The hot streak has raised his batting average to .475 and on-base percentage to .600—both SAC bests.
- Lincoln Memorial has also averaged 14.7 hits per game during its win streak. For the season, the Railsplitters are batting a collective .349 with a .470 on-base percentage and .498 slugging percentage.
- The majority of the team's hits are singles, as only 43 of 153 have gone for extra bases. LMU has only hit nine home runs—five of which came in the team's 21-4 win at Claflin and three in an 18-1 win over Ohio Valley. The team has not homered in seven games during its current win streak and hasn't done so in six straight since that Ohio Valley game.

Timmy Wages is batting .341 with a .707 slugging percentage and has connected for four of the team's nine home runs. No other Railsplitter has hit more than one.

Nate Stinson leads the team in RBI with 14—all of which have come in his past six games. The sophomore has five multi-RBI and hit games over that span. He has hit .565 (13-for-23) in the past six games to raise his average to .469.
- The Railsplitters are 23-for-24 in stolen base attempts this season. Augustine is 7-for-7 while Stinson is 4-for-4.
- LMU pitching has also been solid with a 3.25 mark through 12 games while opponents have posted a 11.09 mark. Starting pitchers are also a combined 6-0.
Joe Bobiak has three of those wins and is 3-0 in his three starts.
- The team has collected 117 strikeouts through 102.1 innings (10.29 K/9).
Ethan Elliott leads with 25 strikeouts in 17.2 innings and a 1.53 ERA. Bobiak has 17 strikeouts in 15.2 innings and a 2.30 ERA.
Dominic Morabito, the team's other probable starter, has a 2.63 ERA through four appearances (two starts) and 23 strikeouts in 13.2 innings.
Notes on Wingate:
- Belmont Abbey hit a ninth-inning homer to prevail 5-4 over the Bulldogs Tuesday in Wingate. Reece Daniel went 2-for-2 with a home run and two runs scored to lead the Wingate offense. Justin Guy added a double and two RBI.
- Belmont Abbey outhit the Bulldogs 15-7. Despite its record, Wingate has only outhit opponents in six of 12 games.
- Wingate's 14 home runs is the highest among SAC teams. Tanner Forry leads the team in that category with five. The right fielder also leads the team with 14 RBI, 16 runs scored, four doubles, 10 walks and .733 slugging percentage. He has also struck out a SAC-high 23 times in 45 at-bats.
- The Bulldogs have stolen 29 bases on 37 attempts. Ty Andrus is 9-for-10 stealing bases while Guy is 6-for-6. Three other Bulldogs have stolen three bases.
- The Wingate pitching staff has posted a 2.92 ERA with three shutouts compared to 7.20 for opponents. Four starting pitchers (Hunter Hamilton, Jimmy Doolittle, Nick Stegman and Hunter Morgan) have made three starts apiece. They have combined for a 5-1 record with a 3.24 ERA. All but Morgan (7.62) have an ERA lower than 3.00.
- The team has shut out opponents in two of Doolittle's three starts. Doolittle also leads the team with 18 strikeouts. Hamilton has the best ERA at 1.29—only two of his eight runs allowed have been earned.
- Wingate relievers have a 2.54 ERA in 49.2 innings. Josh Karklin, Riley Isenhour and Alon Smith are yet to allow a run in a combined 13 appearances and 10.1 innings. Karklin and Austin Turgeon (1.59 ERA) have one save apiece.

- Lincoln Memorial is 10-22 all-time against Wingate. The teams last met in Harrogate in 2016 with the Railsplitters winning two of the three games.
- LMU is 0-10 all-time at Wingate. The Bulldogs swept three-game series in 2007, 2010 and 2012 and won the most recent matchup there, 15-8 in 2014.
