HARROGATE, Tenn. –Lincoln Memorial University's baseball team (10-5, 0-3 SAC) will look to rebound from a three-game sweep at No. 16 Wingate to open South Atlantic Conference play at home against the Anderson Trojans (4-9, 1-2 SAC) this weekend. The Railsplitters were competitive against Wingate but were undone by big innings in all three games. Meanwhile, Anderson dropped two of three at home to Lenoir-Rhyne to open SAC play and fell 6-2 at Erskine Tuesday.

- A six-run bottom of the first inning doomed LMU as Wingate went on to beat the Railsplitters 8-4 in the teams' SAC opener. The loss snapped Lincoln Memorial's nine-game win streak.
Tyler Adams finished 3-for-4 with a solo homer in the ninth—his first of the year. The shortstop also doubled, scored three of the team's four runs and drove in two.

- Lincoln Memorial dropped both ends of Saturday's doubleheader as the Bulldogs completed the three-game sweep. Wingate came from behind in both games to win 6-5 in the opener and 12-10 in game two. LMU led 5-2 in game one before Wingate scored four runs, including three in the seventh, to take the lead for good. The Railsplitters battled back from an 8-3 deficit with a seven-run sixth inning in the nightcap, but a grand slam put Wingate back ahead 12-10.

Logan Augustine went 5-for-13 in the series and has recorded multiple hits in five of his last six games. The senior first baseman has reached in 41 straight games dating back to last season. He also is on a 14-game hitting streak since going 0-for-3 in the season opener. Augustine leads the team in several categories including hits (24), on-base percentage (.565) and stolen bases (8).
- Adams has also reached base in all 15 games this season and 18 straight dating back to last season. The sophomore shortstop leads all LMU players in runs scored (22), RBI (17) and doubles (9).
- Lincoln Memorial has also averaged 12.3 hits per game this season and has recorded a double-digit hit total 11 times in 15 games, including five straight.
- LMU has only hit 10 home runs—five of which came in the team's 21-4 win at Claflin and three in an 18-1 win over Ohio Valley. The team has only homered one time in its past nine games—Adams' ninth-inning solo shot Friday at Wingate.

Notes on Anderson:
- The Trojans are 0-4 away from home and are in the midst of playing 11 of 14 away from home. That stretch started Tuesday with a 6-2 loss at Erskine. Anderson opened the scoring with a run in the top of the fourth, but Erskine evened the score with a leadoff homer in the bottom of the fifth and added five runs in the bottom of the sixth.
- The Trojans lost their SAC opener Friday to Lenoir-Rhyne 11-3 and split Saturday's doubleheader by winning 19-6 in the nine-inning game and again losing 11-3 in the seven-inning finale.
- The team's 19 runs, 17 hits and 10 walks drawn were season highs.
- Anderson is ninth in the 10-team SAC in batting average (.258). The team is last in on-base percentage (.359) and stolen bases (6) and tied for last in runs scored (72).
