HARROGATE, Tenn. – The LMU tennis teams will play two South Atlantic Conference matches on the road this week as they enter the meat of the SAC schedule. First up is a short trip to Carson-Newman Thursday and then the teams travel to Charlotte for a Saturday matchup with the Queens Royals.
LMU's women are currently 7-2 overall and 1-0 in SAC play after defeating Catawba 8-2 last Saturday. Four players (
Julia Loos,
Angelica Solano,
Julia Valls and
Julia Zellner) for the team have 8-1 records in singles play thus far this season. In doubles,
Kristin Vogel and
Kiersten Waugh are 4-1 and Solano and Valls are 5-3.
C-N is currently 3-3 overall and this will be their first conference match. Alisa Liashova has a 5-1 record in singles and Klara Vuckovic is 4-1. Jill Corsato and Abby Rice are the main #1 doubles pair and are 3-3 on the year. LMU's women are 6-5 vs. C-N in the
Benny Collins era.
Queens is 4-1 on the year and currently ranked tenth in the region in the most recent ITA poll. Isabel Fornies is 5-0 in singles, while Carlotta Nassi is 4-0 and Sasha Davidzenka is 4-1. Davidzenka and Yana Fleyer are currently ranked 21stt nationally in doubles and have a 4-1 record. Queens is 4-0 against the Lady Railsplitters since joining the SAC in 2014.
The Railsplitters are 6-3 overall and 1-0 in the SAC following Saturday's win over Catawba. Constantin Ernsberger is 7-1 on the season for the Blue and Gray, while
Joshua Peress is 6-2. Ernstberger and Segarra lead the way in doubles with a 5-2 record.
The Eagles come into Thursday's contest with a 2-4 record. Jesus Bacete and Marc Bantel both have 3-3 records in singles play while Rudolfo Schwarz and Joseph Stiles are 2-0 in doubles. LMU is 9-1 against C-N in the
Benny Collins era.
The men of Queens are ranked seventh in the region and are 1-2 overall. Julian Bosch leads the team in singles with a 2-1 record while Andor Vas and Kasper Roffsen are 3-0 in doubles. The Royals hold a 4-0 record in the series.
Following Saturday's matches, LMU will host Tusculum on March 21.
