HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Lincoln Memorial University baseball team hosts No. 2 Belmont Abbey (30-7) for a nonconference doubleheader Tuesday afternoon at Lamar Hennon Field. The Railsplitters (24-16) are coming off a disappointing series at Coker in which the last-place Cobras won two of three to drop LMU's South Atlantic Conference record to 10-11. The Crusaders had the weekend off and most recently beat Winston-Salem State 14-2 last Thursday.

- LMU allowed a season-high 16 hits in a 10-7 loss to Coker Friday night.
Ethan Elliott allowed a career-worst nine runs and 12 hits, though only five were earned, as the Cobras took a 10-3 lead. The Railsplitters scored four runs in the eighth to make the game interesting but left the bases loaded and failed to score in the ninth.
- The Cobras walked off LMU with a two-out, bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the ninth to win 14-13 in game one of Sunday's doubleheader. The Railsplitters made a valiant comeback to take a 13-12 lead after falling behind 12-2 after the fourth inning before allowing two runs to cross in the bottom of the ninth to drop their sixth straight game.

Matt Mullenbach fired a complete game shutout in the seven-inning nightcap at the Railsplitters snapped their six-game losing streak and salvaged a game in the series with a 6-0 win. The righty allowed five hits and walks and also struck out five to improve to 4-2.
- Stinson went 8-for-12 in the series with three RBI and four runs scored to raise his batting average to .398.
- Despite scoring 26 runs in the series, LMU did not hit a home run.
