HARROGATE, Tenn. – Seeking the first 3-0 start in program history, the Lincoln Memorial men's lacrosse team faces its toughest challenge of the season with a trip to Missouri this weekend for games at No. 18 Lindenwood and Maryville. The Railsplitters will face Lindenwood at 2 p.m. (ET) on Saturday in St. Charles, Mo., before making a quick turnaround to take on Maryville in St. Louis on Monday at 2 p.m. (ET).
The Railsplitters (2-0) were last in action last Friday, when they scored 12 unanswered goals in a 14-2 shellacking at Shorter. That pushed LMU to 2-0 for the third time in four years. The program failed to move to 3-0 in either 2018 or 2016.
Lindenwood (1-0) just broke into the USILA Division II Coaches Poll at No. 18 after upsetting No. 10 Colorado Mesa 16-10 in its season opener last Saturday.
Maryville (2-1) nearly pulled off that same upset in an 8-7 loss to Colorado Mesa last Thursday, but the Saints rebounded from that with a 24-14 woodshedding of Wheeling Jesuit on Sunday to move to 2-1 on the season.
