Rock Hill, SC - Senior Gavin Reid has been named this year's South Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse Scholar Athlete of the Year. 

The senior sport management major held a 3.942 GPA while representing men's lacrosse team in the SAAC and serving as a member of Chi Alpha Sigma. 

Reid put together an excellent finish to his athletic collegiate career at LMU, as he became only the fourth player in program history to reach 100 career goals. During his senior season, he started all 16 games for Lincoln Memorial, leading the team with 43 goals and tallied on 13 assists for a total of 56 points. He also posted a 53.8% shot on goal percentage and recorded 35 ground balls during the year. 

Off of the field, Reid has been involved both on campus and in the community. He was a member of Lincoln's Players, a student worker for athletics, and an Intern for Tennessee Golf Association. He also volunteered his time for organizations and events such as: ROHO, Harvest Moon Festival, Bowling for Autism event, Halloween Havoc, Cumberland Art and Wine Festival, food drive challenge, Knoxville Knight of Columbus fundraising event, Bell County middle school football.
