HARROGATE, Tenn. – LMU hits the road following their 102-74 win over North Greenville Thursday evening to make the 42 hour turnaround to play at Newberry in a South Atlantic Conference matchup Saturday afternoon.
LMU is currently 13-10 overall and 8-7 in SAC play. They improved to 13-10 following their best offensive output of the
Krystal Evans era as they hit 81.3 percent in the first quarter and 59.0 percent overall en-route to the 102-74 win over North Greenville. It marked the first time this season LMU has surpassed the century mark.
Lindsay Proffitt led the way for the Blue and Gray as she had a career-high 23 points off of 7-10 shooting from the field and 4-7 shooting from three-point range.
Emily Griffith chipped in 18 points and seven assists.
Jordan Maney and
Rachel Griffith each had 12 points and four rebounds while
Sydney Duggins scored 10 points.
Dasia Maxwell led all players with five rebounds.
The loss spoils a nice outing by NGU's Karen Donehew as the Knoxville native had 26 points to lead the Crusaders. Tyana Saunders scored 11 points while Savannah Hughes and Bree Stoddard each chipped in 10 points.
Following this game, LMU will return home for the penultimate regular season game as they host Mars Hill Wednesday evening.
SERIES HISTORY
· LMU trails in the series 20-9 and they are 4-6 against Newberry in the
Krystal Evans era.
· In their last meeting, on Jan. 5 in Harrogate, Newberry started strong out of the gate and rushed out to a big lead. LMU battled back over the second half and cut the lead to two with less than five minutes remaining, but Newberry hit free throws down the stretch to escape the Turner Arena with the 95-88 win.

· The last meeting in Newberry, on Dec. 16, 2017, the Lady Railsplitters had a cold shooting day, hitting a season low 26.9 percent. The host Wolves didn't fare much better and eked out the six point win in the final seconds.

Qua Hines chipped in nine points.
Shermeria Quarles had seven rebounds to lead the team.
SCOUTING NEWBERRY
· After getting off to their best start in program history this season (11-1), the Wolves have hit a few bumps in the road and are now 13-9 overall and 7-8 in the SAC standings. After LMU, they also face Wingate, Anderson and Carson-Newman before the end of the regular season.
· Meg Essex leads the Wolves in both points and rebounds, averaging 16.7 points and 9.5 rebounds a game. Shelby Britten is second in scoring with 14.8 points a game while Regan McCarty is third in scoring and second in rebounding with her 12.2 points and 6.7 rebounds average.
· Essex ranks fourth in the SAC in scoring (just above
Emily Griffith), second in blocks and third in rebounds.
· Britten is third in the SAC in assists, averaging 4.6 a game.
