ANDERSON, S.C. – The Lincoln Memorial baseball team looks to get back on track and snap a three-game losing streak this weekend when the Railsplitters open South Atlantic Conference play with a three-game series at Anderson.

Since winning the first game of their series at Lynn last Friday, the Railsplitters (6-6) have suffered three straight losses, most recently falling 8-3 at King on Tuesday. Twelve games into the 2019 game, Lincoln Memorial has bookended a six-game winning streak with a pair of three-game losing streaks.

Anderson (6-3) has been trending in the opposite direction, as the Trojans enter the weekend series with three straight wins, including a 9-6 victory over Southeast Region contender Belmont Abbey on February 13. Anderson has not played since that win, though, as its game against Young Harris on Tuesday was rained out.

Rain has severely altered the schedule for this weekend's series. Instead of the usual Friday / Saturday schedule, Lincoln Memorial and Anderson will meet for a doubleheader on Sunday beginning at 3 p.m. before concluding the series at 2 p.m. on Monday.

Quick Hits

- The Railsplitters let too many scoring chances slip away in Tuesday's 8-3 loss at King, leaving nine runners stranded on base while being outhit 11-7. Lincoln Memorial left two runners on base in four different innings.

- Seth Hunt went 2-for-5 with two RBI and the only extra-base hit of the game for the Railsplitters. The senior outfielder has now hit safely in 10 straight games with multiple hits in five of those outings. He leads the team with 18 hits and a .375 batting average.

- Chris Salvey saw his seven-game hitting streak and 11-game reached base streak snapped in the loss at King. Despite that, the first baseman is still batting .372 with a team-leading 18 RBI. He also leads the team with a .491 on-base percentage.

- Nate Stinson has reached base in all 12 games this season and is currently sporting a spectacular .356 batting average with 16 hits, five doubles and eight RBI. The designated hitter has drawn seven walks and holds a .434 on-base percentage.

- Junior Henry Moore has filled in nicely for the injured Dalton Dedas during the last three games for the Railsplitters. Over that span, Moore has gone 6-for-11 at the plate with three runs scored and four RBI.

- The Lincoln Memorial offense is missing preseason All-SAC selection Tyler Adams desperately, as the junior has played in only three games and recorded just nine at-bats so far this season. Last season, Adams led the team in runs, doubles, homers, RBI, total bases, walks, steals and on-base percentage.

- Ethan Elliott is preparing to make his fourth start of his senior season. The lefty has been brilliant once again with a 1.76 ERA and 22 strikeouts across 15.1 innings of work. He moved to 2-1 on the season last Friday after limiting Lynn to two hits while striking out seven in six innings.

- LMU's other two weekend starters, Joe Bobiak and Matt Mullenbach, have been up and down so far. Bobiak is 1-0 with a 6.75 ERA, while Mullenbach is 0-1 with a 6.08 ERA, though the hard-throwing righty has struck out 19 in 13.1 frames. Bobiak was torched for 10 hits and six runs in 4.1 innings at Lynn, while Mullenbach was chased after just 3.2 innings in the series finale at Lynn.

- The Railsplitters are batting just .274 with runners in scoring position compared to a .282 overall batting average.

- Lincoln Memorial finished fourth in the SAC last season with a 15-12 conference mark. The Railsplitters were picked second behind only Catawba in the SAC preseason poll.

Notes on Anderson

- The Trojans opened the season by sweeping a three-game series against King by scores of 8-6, 11-6 and 10-9. However, the Trojans took the final two games of the Alabama Huntsville series and beat Belmont Abbey to head into the weekend riding a three-game winning streak.
