ROME, Ga. – Fresh off a nail-biting win to commence the Carroll Kennedy era, the Lincoln Memorial men's lacrosse team will try to start 2-0 for the second consecutive season on Friday night with a trip to Rome, Ga., to face the Shorter Hawks at Ben Brady Field.

Despite trailing for most of the match, the Railsplitters (1-0) scored twice and held Barton – a first-year program – scoreless over the final five minutes to steal a 14-13 win in the 2019 opener last Saturday at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh, N.C.

Shorter (0-1) kicked off its 2019 season with a narrow 14-12 home loss to Chowan last Saturday and have now lost 11 straight matches dating back to last season.
