Malherbe tied for lead, Lady Railsplitters in sixth at Coker Invitational

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Lise Malherbe is tied for the lead while the Lincoln Memorial women's golf team is in sixth place after the opening round of the Coker Invitational on Monday at Hartsville Country Club. 
 
Powered by Malherbe's even-par 72, which has the senior locked in a three-way tie atop the 81-player field, the Lady Railsplitters fired a 37-over par 325 to sit in sixth place out of 14 teams.  
 
Anderson is in first place with a 16-over par 304, while Coker is in second at 21-over par. Barton (+22), Young Harris (+24) and Columbus State (+28) have the three spots immediately in front of Lincoln Memorial. 
 
Aside from Malherbe, who is in position for her sixth top-three performance and third win of the 2018-19 campaign, Emma Morrison produced the next-best round of the day for the Lady Railsplitters with a nine-over par 81, while Harper Cherry, who is competing as an individual, had a 10-over par 82. Morrison is tied for 26th place and Cherry is in a tie for 32nd place. 
 
Ella Morton is a shot back of Cherry with an 11-over par 83, while Sophia Gray rounded out the four-player score for the Lady Railsplitters with a 17-over par 89. She is alone in 69th place. Shelby Campbell failed to record a qualifying score for LMU with a 19-over par 91.
