Lady Railsplitters finish in seventh at Coker Invitational

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Lincoln Memorial women's golf team made a two-shot improvement in the final round of the Coker Invitational, but fell a spot in the standings, settling for a seventh-place finish in the 14-team event. The Lady Railsplitters completed the two-day event with a 72-over par total of 648. 
 
Anderson edged Coker by three strokes to win the Coker Invitational title with a 40-over par total of 616, while Columbus State and Barton tied for third place at 54-over par. Young Harris rounded out the top five at 64-over par, while Belmont Abbey shot a final-round 318 to overtake the Lady Railsplitters by a single stroke. 
 
Lise Malherbe fell just short in the hunt for her third individual medalist honors of the season, recording a final-round, five-over par 77 to earn sole possession of third place. It marks the seventh straight top-10 effort and sixth top-three performance of the season for Malherbe, who ended up three shots back of the winner, Anderson's Tiffany Elam. 
 
Emma Morrison also earned a top-20 finish for the Lady Railsplitters, carding a final-round 79 to tie for 20th place. Ella Morton posted her second 83 of the tournament to tie for 38th place, while Sophia Gray and Shelby Campbell both shot rounds of 84. Gray finished alone in 62nd place, while Campbell tied for 65th. 
 
In the individual competition, Harper Cherry followed up Monday's 82 with a final-round 88 to fall into a tie for 55th place.
