SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. – The LMU beach volleyball team continued their Florida road swing Tuesday as they faced off against Florida Southern for the second time in less than 24 hours before playing host Eckerd. The Lady Railsplitters fell to Florida Southern 4-1 in the first match, but rebounded for the 3-2 win over Eckerd.

LMU's point came at the no. 3 flight, where
Kai Wesemann and
Sarah Jones grabbed the 21-16, 21-12 win over Kennedy Mathews and Lee Calhoun.
At the second spot,
Lindsey Nartker and
Rylee Storms fell in three sets to Kylee Whiteleather and Kayla Dumon 16-21, 21-11, 15-11. The Danielles (Stachura and Ged) also lost a close match at the first flight by a 22-20, 21-18 margin.
Caitlin Bethell and
Emily Walter fell 23-21, 21-8 at the four spot; and
Marissa Coutinho and
Abby Higgins fell 21-11, 21-15 at the fifth flight.
LMU 3, Eckerd 2
The Lady Railsplitters outlasted the Tritons 3-2 to pick up their first win of the season.
Wesemann and Jones remained undefeated on the season as they rallied from a set down to defeat Fernanda Reis and Sam Crankshaw in the third flight 12-21, 21-15, 15-11.
Nartker and Storms swept Abbie O'Ferrell in the second spot 21-15, 21-12. With the win, Nartker ties former teammate
Abby Cash (2016-18) for the top spot on the LMU BVB career wins list with 29.
Bethell and Walter went to three hard-fought sets against Kira Hahn-Ventrell and Margot Balliet before grabbing the 21-23, 21-15, 15-11 win at the fourth spot.
In the first flight Ged and Stachura fell in a close match 21-14, 21-11, while at the fifth flight Coutinho and Higgins were defeated 21-17, 21-9.
LMU (1-3) will wrap up the road trip tomorrow when they play at Webber International.
