LAGRANGE, Ga. – The Lincoln Memorial University beach volleyball program swept day two of the LaGrange Tri-Match, winning their matches over Bob Jones and LaGrange.
 
Game 1 – Lincoln Memorial 4, Bob Jones 1
 
Much like day one, the Lady Railsplitters were able to handle business against Bob Jones. LMU was able to capture the first point of the afternoon at the No. 3 position as Gabriela Abreu and Lydia Thurman cruised to a 21-13, 21-11 win over Hannah Prince and Caroline Smith.
 
"Big win for Gabriela and Lydia at the No. 3 spot," said coach Lucy Pennington-Russell. "We learned a lot in this game about adapting and how important the little things are when we practice. It was a little bit of an adjustment to the wind, but we did a great job communicating it and pushing through."

Kristen Moehring and Katie Cardenas continued their dominance at the No. 1 position as they were able to sweep Camila Silva and Timbre Cruz to give the Splitters a 2-0 lead. Katherine Bedel and Sevgi Koyuncu needed a decisive third set to determine the winner at the No. 4 position and the LMU duo was able to defeat Kate Landkrohn and Caitlyn Benson (15-21, 21-11, 15-14).
 
Emily Walter and Emma Winford securd the win for the Lady Railsplitters at the No. 2 position with a three set win (21-13, 16-21, 15-9) over BJU's Emma Riddle and Eden Swihart.
 
Game 2 – Lincoln Memorial 5, LaGrange 0
 
Going up 2-0 to begin the match again, Lincoln Memorial was able to make quick work on the courts in match two of the day.
 
Duo of Walter and Winford secured the third point of the match as the were able to secure a 21-8, 21-11 sweep over LaGrange's Viance Colon Gonzales and Hayleigh Sebaugh.
 
Moehring and Cardenas followed with a win at the No. 1 spot over Jharia Harris and Bailey Moss, while Abreu and Thurman gave the Lady Railsplitters the final point to secure the match win.

The Lady Railsplitters will head to Spartanburg, South Carolina for the Spartanburg Methodist Tournament on Friday, March 25 and Saturday, March 26. LMU is set to face Truett McConnell, St. Andrews, Spartanburg Methodist and Bob Jones.
