LAGRANGE, Ga. – The Lincoln Memorial University beach volleyball program continued their high offensive output to begin the LaGrange Tri-Match on Friday afternoon, sweeping the day over Bob Jones and LaGrange.
Game 1 – Lincoln Memorial 4, Bob Jones 1
The Lady Railsplitters got out to a hot start on the day with duo
Emily Walter and
Emma Winford capturing their match in quick fashion at the #3 spot over Hannah Prince and Caroline Smith (21-14, 21-4).
Power duo of
Katie Bedel and
Sevgi Koyuncu dominated the #4 spot taking a sweep over Kate Landkrohn and Caitlyn Benson (21-10, 21-15).
Kristen Moehring and
Katie Cardenas followed suite at the #1 spot with a 21-17, 21-11 victory over Camila Silva and Timbre Cruz.
Senior
Gabriela Abreu and duo parter
Lydia Thurman tallied LMU's fourth point of the match with a 23-21, 21-15 victory over Emma Riddle and Eden Swihart. Bob Jones found their only point of the match at the #5 spot, but had to go to a decisive third set to capture the point.
Game 2 – Lincoln Memorial 5, LaGrange 0
Immediately going up 2-0 in the match with the points at the #4 and #5 spots as the Panthers forfeited the matches. Walter and Winford made quick work in their second appearance on the sand today, defeating Carmen Hamilton and Hayleigh Sebaugh in straight sets (21-5, 21-4).
The Lady Railsplitters went onto capture the match as Abreu and Thurman swept (21-6, 21-8) Kinleigh Collins and Vianca Colon Gonzales at the #2 spot while Moehring and Cardenas swept (21-15, 21-18) at the #1 spot.

The Lady Railsplitters will stay in Georgia for the night as they will complete play a part of the tri-match tomorrow, beginning at 11 a.m. ET against Bob Jones followed by LaGrange at 1 p.m. ET.
