HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Lincoln Memorial men's lacrosse team will try to shake the memory of another heart-wrenching loss on Saturday when the No. 18 Wingate Bulldogs visit the LMU Lacrosse Complex for a South Atlantic Conference matchup.
The Railsplitters (3-7, 1-3 SAC) let another match slip out of their grasp last Saturday at Catawba, as the Indians rallied from an 8-2 second-quarter deficit to defeat Lincoln Memorial 13-12.
Wingate (6-3, 2-1 SAC) has dropped back-to-back matches, as the Bulldogs fell at Catawba as well 13-9 last Wednesday and suffered an 11-10 overtime loss at No. 12 Mount Olive on Saturday.

- After a 5-0 scoring run, Lincoln Memorial led now No. 19 nationally-ranked Catawba 8-2 with 2:48 left in the second quarter on Saturday in Salisbury, N.C. However, the Indians scored three times before the half ended, ripped off a 4-1 run scoring binge in the fourth quarter and held the Railsplitters scoreless for the final 10 minutes to seal the 13-12 come-from-behind victory.
- The loss at Catawba marked the third time in the past five matches that the Railsplitters let a late lead slip away. In the loss to Alabama-Huntsville, LMU led 12-11 with 6:47 to play before falling 14-12. The 'Splitters also entered the fourth quarter of their match against Coker with a 7-5 lead, but lost 10-7.

Kyle Arcuri scored two goals in the match at Catawba to become the second player in program history to reach the 100-goal mark for his career. Arcuri has compiled 176 career points and 101 career goals to rank behind only
Adam Golia in both of those categories all-time.

Ian Cook scored three times against Catawba to push his season total to 28, which is 10 more than any other player on the team. The sophomore has scored 28 times despite ranking fourth on the team in shot attempts with 51.

Robert Tucker needs only two points to become the fifth player in program history with 100 career tallies. The junior ranks third on the team with 27 points this season and has registered three points or more in back-to-back matches.
- The Railsplitters won their only other appearance on the LMU Lacrosse Complex field this season, notching their first SAC win with a 21-15 win over Mars Hill on March 20.

Trenton Cameron has had some struggles of late, posting a save percentage below 50 percent in the past two matches. The junior is currently ranked seventh in the SAC in save percentage at 48 percent while ranking sixth with an 11.81 goals against average.
Notes on Wingate
- The Bulldogs' resume includes wins over receiving votes Rollins (11-10 in double overtime), receiving votes Florida Southern (13-12 in overtime) and defending national semifinalist Lenoir-Rhyne, which has endured a miserable 2-6 start to the season. Wingate has also lost to No. 13 Mercyhurst, No. 19 Catawba and No. 12 Mount Olive.
- Wingate claims one of the better scoring defenses in the country, ranking second in the conference and 16th nationally with 9.22 goals allowed per match.
- Offensively, the Bulldogs don't exactly jump off the page, scoring 12.0 goals per match. That number is tied for sixth in the SAC and ranks 39th in the nation.
- The Bulldogs are a veteran group with four upperclassmen leading the charge offensively. Senior Ryan Ormerod leads the team with 27 points on 15 goals and 12 assists, while senior Alex Llerandi has 20 goals and five assists. Junior Dominic Piazza has produced 14 goals and 11 assists, while senior Conor Gronbach has 15 goals and nine assists.
- Wingate freshman goalie Alex Cordero is among the best in the nation, ranking 13th in Division II lacrosse with a 9.12 goals against average. That marks trails only Queens' Kyle Hornik for the best in the SAC.
- Two of Wingate's three losses have come on the road and in back-to-back games at Catawba and Mount Olive. The Bulldogs have not won a road contest since beating Lenoir-Rhyne in Hickory on March 9.
Series History
- The Railsplitters are still looking for their first-ever win against Wingate, who is 5-0 all-time against Lincoln Memorial.
- The Railsplitters have gotten oh so close to knocking off the Bulldogs, previously falling 10-9 in 2015, 12-11 in the regular-season meeting last season, and 6-4 in the semifinals of the 2018 SAC tournament.
- Saturday will be just the second meeting between the two teams in Harrogate. The Bulldogs won the only other one 14-7 in 2017.
