HARROGATE, Tenn. – The LMU beach volleyball team will cross the state of Tennessee to play three matches in the Austin Peay Govs Beach Bash Friday and Saturday. They face host Austin Peay at 1 p.m. (Noon Central Time) on Friday, immediately followed by Eastern Kentucky at 3 p.m. (2 p.m. CDT). On Saturday they will face Georgia State at 10 a.m. (9 a.m. CDT) to close out the weekend.

The Lady Railsplitters enter the weekend with a 4-6 record after splitting four games last weekend, losing a pair of 3-2 games to Stevenson University before defeating Carson-Newman twice.

The duo of Lindsey Nartker and Rylee Storms, as well as the duo of Kai Wesemann and Sarah Jones, lead the way for the Blue and Gray this season as each have identical 7-3 records. Caitlin Bethell and Emily Walter aren't far behind with a 5-2 record. Danielle Ged and Danielle Stachura have struggled early on, but went 3-1 over the weekend. Brooke Taylor and Abby Higgins have had a similar season, but won two of four matches last weekend.

Austin Peay enters the weekend with a 12-12 overall record, but the Govs are 7-2 at home. Jenna Panning and Haley Turner are the pair to watch as they are 11-6 on the season. Ciera Koons and Brooke Moore are 9-6, while MiMi Arrington and Caroline Waite are 7-3 on the season. The Govs and the Lady Railsplitters will meet Friday for the fifth time, with the series tied at 2-2.

This is the first season of beach volleyball at Eastern Kentucky, and the Colonels are currently 1-11 on the year. Their lone win was a 3-2 win over another first-year program, Tusculum, on March 31. Amongst common opponents this season, EKU lost to Georgia State to open the program, split with Tusculum, and has lost twice to Carson-Newman. All of the wins for EKU this season have been in the three and four flights, with Kennedy Wilson and Rachel Woody going 3-4 in the third spot and Clairissa Hankinson and Mikayla Logan having a 2-4 record in the fourth spot.

Georgia State enters the weekend with an 18-11 record against arguably one of the toughest schedules in the country as they have faced Southern California, Grand Canyon, LSU, and South Carolina this season. They are 3-0 all-time vs. LMU and are 2-0 vs. common opponents Eckerd and Austin Peay. Eden Hawes and Georgia Johnson have a 11-7 record at the first flight; Kate Novack and Brooke Weiner are 16-6 at the third flight; and Maddie Gordon and Becky Tresham are 20-8 overall, including a 14-5 reord in the fourth spot.

Following this weekend's matches the Lady Railsplitters will close out the season at the AVCA Small College Beach Volleyball Championship April 19-21.
