NEWBERRY, S.C. – The Lincoln Memorial men's lacrosse team looks to position itself to earn a bid to the South Atlantic Conference tournament on Saturday when it closes out the regular-season schedule with a matchup at Newberry.
The Railsplitters (4-9, 2-5 SAC) snapped a three-game losing streak and picked up a critical conference victory on Wednesday with a resounding 19-14 triumph at Tusculum. With that, Lincoln Memorial joined a logjam of four other teams with two SAC victories.
That group includes the Railsplitters' opponent on Saturday, as the Newberry Wolves (8-5, 2-4 SAC) dropped a hard-fought decision against nationally-ranked Queens on Wednesday, 14-9. That was the second straight setback for the Wolves, who also suffered a more lopsided 18-6 loss to Wingate the weekend before.
