CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The LMU beach volleyball team closed out play in the Govs Beach Bash with the 5-0 loss to 16th-ranked Georgia State Saturday afternoon.
Erica Whiteaker and
Tone Gill fell in the fourth flight to Becky Tresham and Mattie Johnson 21-7, 21-12l while in the fifth flight
Emily Walter and
Caitlin Bethell lost a close match to Bailey Hatchett and Bekah Brodbeck 21-17, 21-15.
In the third spot, GSU's Brooke Weiner and Kate Novack won over
Sarah Jones and
Kai Wesemann 21-17, 21-6; and in the first flight
Lindsey Nartker and Rylee Storm lost a hard-fought 21-14, 21-16 match to Eden Hawes and Maddy Delmonte.
At the second flight
Danielle Ged and
Danielle Stachura lost to Olivia Stasevich and Georgia Johnson 21-8, 21-15.
In the exhibition flight,
Abby Higgins and
Brooke Taylor fell to Anna Rantala and Kaylee McClure 21-3, 21-12.
The Lady Railsplitters close out the season next weekend in the AVCA Small College Championships in Tavares, Florida.
