CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Lincoln Memorial senior golfer Lise Malherbe closed out the NCAA Division II South Super Regional with a five-over par 77 to finish in a tie for 26th place in the 66-player event on Wednesday at Cleveland Country Club. (Results

Malherbe entered the day with an outside chance of earning one of four individual bids to the national championship, but was undone by a slow start in Wednesday's round.

The Mount Juliet, Tenn., native bogeyed the first two holes of her round and three of the first four overall, but got things back on track after that, reeling off five straight pars to close out the front nine at three-over par.

She dropped another shot at the par-five 10th hole before getting back to two-over par for the round with birdies on the 12th and 14th holes. However, Malherbe made a bogey on the 15th hole and doubled the final hole to finish with her second-straight 77 in the tournament.

The tie for 26th is the second-best finish ever by a Lady Railsplitter at the South Super Regional behind only Anabel Fernandez's ninth-place performance at that event in 2002.

It also marks the end of the most successful career in the history of the LMU women's golf program, as Malherbe finishes her four-year tenure as the career leader in scoring average and wins. The two-time All-South Atlantic Conference first-team selection also compiled an astounding 18 top-10s and 16 top-fives across 42 career tournaments.

Lynn won the South Super Regional with a 20-over par team total, while Limestone, Barry and Florida Tech also advance to the NCAA national championship with second, third and fourth-place finishes, respectively.
