BLUEFIELD, W.Va. - Coming off a close loss to conference foe Tusculum, the Lincoln Memorial University women's basketball team (2-1) will head on the road for a non-conference contest on Tuesday as they will face Bluefield State.
Last Time Out
The Lady Railsplitters battled hard against South Atlantic Conference leader Tusculum, but fell in the final seconds by a score of 57-53.
Lauren Flowers continued her excellent start to the season as she recorded 18 points and seven rebounds while going 10-11 from the free throw line, while
Lexi Kiser had 14 points, three rebounds, and three assists.
Maggie Jachimczuk had a solid performance down low as she had eight points, four rebounds, and three steals.
Versus The Big Blues
The Lady Railsplitters have a 12-5 all-time record against Bluefield State, last playing on Dec. 10, 2014. LMU has won five consecutive matchups in the series and has not lost to the Big Blues during the 2000s.
About Bluefield State
Bluefield State is coached by Ryan Bailey, who is in his fourth year as head coach. Coming off a 16-11 season, the team is 0-1 so far this year as they dropped their opener against West Virginia Tech by a score of 60-52. The Big Blues employ a balanced lineup as four players average at least eight points per contest. They are led by Londen Coleman, who averages 11 points and four rebounds per game while Dani Janutolo averages 10 points and nine rebounds.

LMU will come back home and return to conference play as they host UVA Wise on Dec. 5 inside B. Frank "Tex" Turner Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
