HARROGATE, Tenn. - Coming off of a close home loss against UVA Wise, the Lincoln Memorial University women's basketball team (5-6, 4-6 SAC) will take on #10 Carson-Newman inside the friendly confines of B. Frank "Tex" Turner Arena this Wednesday, Jan. 27. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m.
Last Time Out
The Lady Railsplitters took on UVA Wise at home on Monday and put up a great fight before losing 87-79. Trailing 77-64 in the fourth quarter, LMU embarked on a 13-0 run to tie the game before succumbing to a late Cavalier run.
Mikayla Kuehne had her best performance in the Blue and Gray as she posted 23 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
Lauren Flowers joined her in double figures with 16 points and five rebounds while
Lindsay Proffitt had 14 points and a season-high tying eight rebounds.
Lexi Kiser rounded out the standout offensive performers with ten points, five rebounds, and five assists.
Versus The Eagles
The Lady Railsplitters have a 46-54 all-time record against Carson-Newman. LMU has won four of the past ten meetings. The last victory against the Eagles came in the SAC Tournament quarterfinals in 2019 as LMU won 80-77 in overtime.
About Carson-Newman
Carson-Newman is coached by Mike Mincey, who is in his tenth year as the head coach of the program. Prior to becoming the head coach, Mincey was an assistant coach with the program. Coming off a 22-8 (17-5 SAC) season, the team is 7-0 (7-0) so far this season. Braelyn Wykle leads the team with a league-leading 22.9 points and 4.4 assists per contest, while Addison Byrd is second on the team in points with 14 per contest while pulling down 7.7 rebounds per game. Lindsey Taylor averages 13.1 points and a team-leading 8.9 rebounds and Skylar Boshears averages 12.7 points and 4.5 rebounds.
Looking Ahead
LMU will go on the road in conference play and face Wingate on Jan. 30. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
