Lady Railsplitters Head to Jefferson City For Regular Season Finale

Look to finish out season on two-game winning streak

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Coming off of a 23 point win in the home regular season finale against Queens, the Lincoln Memorial University women's basketball team (8-9, 7-9 SAC) will take on #13 Carson-Newman inside Holt Fieldhouse this Wednesday, Feb. 24. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m.

Last Time Out
The Lady Railsplitters took on Queens at home this past Saturday and used a dominant third quarter to coast to a 75-52 win. Jordan Maney led the offensive charge with 17 points, three rebounds, and two assists while Lindsay Proffitt had 14 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double. Lauren Flowers continued her excellent season with 12 points, five rebounds, and five assists and Maggie Jachimczuk added 12 points and six rebounds.

Versus The Eagles
The Lady Railsplitters have a 47-54 all-time record against Carson-Newman, and LMU has won five of the past ten meetings. The last victory against the Eagles came on Jan. 27 inside the friendly confines of B. Frank "Tex" Turner Arena as the LMU came away with an 87-82 victory against the then-undefeated Eagles.

About Carson-Newman
Carson-Newman is coached by Mike Mincey, who is in his tenth year as the head coach of the program. Prior to becoming the head coach, Mincey was an assistant coach with the program. Coming off a 22-8 (17-5 SAC) season, the team is 14-2 (14-2) so far this season. Braelyn Wykle leads the team with a league-leading 23.4 points and 4.2 assists per contest, while Lindsey Taylor averages 14.1 points and a team-leading 9.4 rebounds. Skylar Boshears is third on the team with 12.5 points and 3.9 rebounds while Addison Byrd is also in double figures with 10.6 points and 6.1 rebounds.

Looking Ahead
LMU will await their assigned seed for the upcoming 2021 South Atlantic Conference Pilot Flying J Women's Basketball Championship.
