Box Score 2 HARROGATE, Tenn. - The Lincoln Memorial University men's and women's tennis teams fell to Tusculum in matches contested Saturday afternoon at the LMU Tennis Complex. With the defeat, the men fall to 1-5 (0-3 South Atlantic Conference) and the women are now 2-3 (1-2 SAC).
The men's match saw the visiting Pioneers go through the day without dropping a set, although
Jake Tuchmann lost his singles match at number four in consecutive 7-6 tiebreakers. Tuchmann and
Thom Hermans continued their good play in doubles as they fell 6-4 at the number two spot.
On the women's side,
Johanna Delisse and
Valentina Ascarrunz posted a 6-4 victory at number two doubles, but the Pioneers won the other two matches to earn the early 1-0 lead. In singles, Delisse won 2-6, 6-1, 7-6 at number two singles and Ascarrunz won 6-2, 7-6 at number three for the two LMU points.
Both teams will have a quick turnaround as they travel on the road to play Lee in Cleveland, Tenn. Sunday afternoon. The contest is slated to begin at 2 p.m.
