Men's Golf Clinch Second Victory of Season at the Southeastern Collegiate

All five Railsplitters finish in the top-37 of the individual leaderboard

VALDOSTA, Ga. – The No. 4-ranked Lincoln Memorial University men's golf program clinched their second victory of the 2021-22 season Tuesday afternoon at the Southeastern Collegiate, the spring's premier event on the golf calendar in the region.

Topping 11 top-25-ranked programs in this year's field at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club, including the nation's No. 1-ranked via Golfstat, Barry University, the No. 4 Railsplitters (281-290-290) took home the crown with a dramatic one-stroke victory over No. 21 Columbus State.

The Railsplitters (-3) and the Cougars (-2) were the only two sides in the 18-team field that finished under-par this week in the Peach State, as No. 6 Lee was the next-closest team on the outside-looking-in at one-over-par. Head coach Travis Muncy has now officially clinched his 46th total victory throughout his decorated Railsplitter career.

With no surprise in complement to his terrific graduate year form, the low-finisher on the week for LMU was one-man Luke Harries (69-72-73), who finished level in sixth.

Sophomore Alex James (71-75-70) was one of the highest risers on the individual leaderboard Tuesday, jetting up 15 places with the low-score for LMU of two-under-par at the final round. Junior and Golfstat's 36th-ranked player in the nation, Harry Lord (69-73-75) carded yet another top-20 finish in his Lincoln Memorial career.

Scottish International Ian Taggart (75-71-72) produced the best-outing of his junior campaign to-date this week in Georgia, finishing even-par at the final round, a crucial performance in securing the silverware for the Blue & Grey.

Although he may have finished fifth among his fellow Railsplitters, breakout freshman George Durkan (72-74-75) still placed among the top-37 on the individual leaderboard, out of a 90-golfer field, a finish that speaks volumes to the high-quality and depth LMU's roster possesses.
