Women's Bowling Knock off No. 2 Nebraska at Music City Classic Consolation Rounds

Sophomore Cassidy Anschutz finishes in seventh individually

SMYRNA, Tenn. – The No. 22-ranked Lincoln Memorial University women's bowling team traveled to the annual Music City Classic over the weekend hosted by Vanderbilt University, where the Lady Railsplitters finished eleventh-overall.
 
This weekend was yet another scorching hot performance on the lanes for sophomore Cassidy Anschutz, who has really hit form at the right time down the stretch this spring. The New York native placed seventh overall in the individual standings out of a total of 203 bowlers. Anschutz bowled a total pinfall of 1,118 in the Music City, resulting in an impressive game-average of 223.60.
 
LMU compiled a 6-4 record through baker and traditional match play Friday and Saturday, before finishing 2-1 for an 8-5 overall record in Sunday's consolation bracket.
 
The Blue & Grey entered Sunday's bracket play as the No. 12 seed, falling in the opening consolation match to Youngstown State University. LMU rallied and closed out their regular season on a high-note, defeating Tulane and the University of Nebraska to earn an 11th-place finish out of a total of 33 schools.

The Lady Railsplitters will compete for the inaugural Conference Carolinas Championship, beginning Friday, March 25 in Gastonia, N.C.
