GAINESVILLE, Ga. – The Lincoln Memorial men's golf team had a strong closing round to finish ninth in a field of 20 at the Mizuno Intercollegiate at Chattahoochee Golf Club hosted by North Georgia.

The Railsplitters gained six positions in the team score thanks to an even-par 288 in Tuesday's final round. Lincoln Memorial finished with an overall score of 18-over par 882 over the course of the two-day, 54-hole tournament.

Conference foe Anderson won the tournament, shooting an 18-under total of 846, while Anderson's Calahan Keever and West Florida's Elias Haavisto tied for medalist honors with 10-under performances (206 strokes) over the two days.

Lincoln Memorial's
Harry Lord fired an impressive 3-under 69 in the final round to pace the Railsplitters. Lord finished tied for 39
th place in the field of 108 with a 5-over total 221.

Alex James (2-over 218) and
Loic Naas (4-over 220) finished tied for 19
th and tied for 29
th individually, respectively, to lead the Railsplitters throughout the event, while
Thomas Craig (12-over 228) and
Ian Taggart (14-over 230) contributed to the team score as well.

The next competition for the Railsplitters is scheduled for Oct. 3 and 4 at the NSU Shark Invitational in Davie, Fla.
