The Lincoln Memorial softball team was picked to finish second in the South Atlantic Conference in the preseason poll as voted by the league's head coaches, the SAC office announced Tuesday.
 
Four student-athletes also earned preseason All-Conference recognition, including outfielder Madison Henry on the First Team and pitcher Emma Frost, catcher McKenzie Henry and shortstop Sierra Hucklebee on the Second Team.
 
Lincoln Memorial received 125 points including three first-place votes in the poll, behind only Anderson's 139 points and seven first-place votes. Lenoir-Rhyne finished in third with 124 points.
 
The Railsplitters are coming off a 2022 season when they won the SAC Tournament and Division II Southeast Regional Championships.
 
Lincoln Memorial opens the year with the LMU Invitational against Ohio Dominican and Maryville on Saturday, Feb. 4 at the Dorothy Neely Softball Complex.
