Harrogate, TN – Lincoln Memorial softball carries a four-game winning streak into one of its biggest South Atlantic Conference tests of the season, traveling to Mars Hill for a Saturday doubleheader at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. in Mars Hill, North Carolina.
The Railsplitters (14-20, 6-8 SAC) have built momentum over the last week and now turn their attention to a Lions squad that sits in the top half of the league standings. Mars Hill enters the weekend 25-9 overall and 6-4 in conference play, currently holding an edge on LMU in the SAC race as both teams push toward postseason positioning.
Offensively, LMU has been sparked by a steady core at the top of the lineup. Reese Vivrette leads the way with a .350 average and 30 runs scored, while Hanna Bogoski is hitting .348 with 12 RBIs. Jordann Reagan (.323) and Hannah McMeen (.297) have provided extra-base punch, and Kristin Griffin has been a key run producer with 23 RBIs and three home runs. In the circle, LMU will lean on a staff that has been battle-tested throughout the first half, with multiple arms capable of giving the Railsplitters length in a doubleheader.
Mars Hill brings a dangerous lineup that is among the league's most productive, hitting .335 as a team with 32 home runs. The Lions have several hitters batting near or above the .400 mark and a pitching staff anchored by Kamryn Akins (1.52 ERA, 11 wins) that has been tough to crack throughout the season. Saturday's matchup will be a strong measuring stick for LMU as it looks to keep its streak rolling against one of the SAC's most complete teams.
Historically, this series has been competitive. LMU holds a 19-15 advantage all-time against Mars Hill, but the Lions have won the last four meetings, including a pair in Harrogate a season ago. The Railsplitters will be aiming to flip that script on the road and pick up a statement conference series win.
Video coverage and live stats will be available through LMU's schedule page for both games.
