Lady Railsplitters Remain Tenacious in Wasps Open

Emory, VA- The Lady Railsplitters competed in the Wasps Women's Wrestling Open on Friday, December 15th. The tournament was hosted by Emory & Henry and featured five ladies from Lincoln Memorial. 

In the 116-pound weight class, LMU would claim the 3rd and 4th place positions, earning 16 and 13 team points respectively. Jordan Muncy would begin the tournament strong, winning her first three rounds by pin. Ashley Morris would follow a similar path, earning two wins by pin in her opening matchups. The third-place matchup in the class would come down between Muncy and Morris, a contest that Morris would win by pin.

Calista Gibson, Stephanie Castro, and Jenna Blinkewicz also competed in Friday's tournament. Blinkewicz gained two wins by pin in the 155-pound weight class to give the Lady Railsplitters an addition to their team point total. Castro would do the same, adding 12.5 team points and earning a third-place finish in the 136-pound weight class. Castro's day included a win by pin and an 11-0 technical fall.

 The women will be back in action on Sunday, January 7th, traveling to Montgomery, Alabama to compete in Huntingdon College's Hawk Classic.
