The Lincoln Memorial baseball team begins its season with a three-game series against Cedarville this weekend, starting with a single game on Friday at 3 p.m. before a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at noon at Lamar Hennon Field.
 
The Railsplitters are coming off a 2022 season when they went 27-18 (15-8 South Atlantic Conference) to finish sixth in the 13-team SAC in head coach Justin Haywood's second year leading the program.
 
Lincoln Memorial was picked sixth in the SAC preseason poll as voted on by the league's head coaches. Designated hitter Carson Boles and starting pitcher Patrick Queener were named to the preseason All-SAC second team, while first baseman Ryan Kurth and shortstop Cameron Bowen landed on the third team.
 
The visiting Yellow Jackets went 21-26 (15-14 Great Midwest Athletic Conference) a season ago to finish fifth in the G-MAC. Cedarville will now be led by first year head coach Matt Richter.
