The No. 20 Lincoln Memorial softball team will play a total of four games at the LMU Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at the Dorothy Neely Softball Complex to begin its season.
 
The Railsplitters, who are nationally ranked in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) preseason poll, will host Ohio Dominican at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday and around 2 p.m. on Sunday and Maryville around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. on Sunday.
 
Lincoln Memorial is coming off a 2022 season when it went 39-20 and won the South Atlantic Conference and NCAA Southeast Regional Tournaments in head coach Ritchie Richardson's fifth year leading the team.
 
In the SAC preseason poll, the Railsplitters were projected to finish second in a vote of the league's head coaches, behind only Anderson. Outfielder Madison Henry was named First Team All-SAC, while pitcher Emma Frost, catcher McKenzie Henry and shortstop Sierra Hucklebee all earned spots on the Second Team.
 
Ohio Dominican won the Great Midwest Athletic Conference in 2022 while posting a 35-19 record (19-3 G-MAC) on its way to the NCAA Tournament. Maryville went 17-25 (12-16 Great Lakes Valley Conference) in 2022.
 
Lincoln Memorial's first midweek action is scheduled for a Wednesday doubleheader at Lee beginning at 2 p.m.
