Men's Lacrosse (4-3, 0-1) returns home on Saturday, March 18
th, to take on the #7 Wingate Bulldogs (6-1, 3-0).
Last year, they met at Wingate and lost to the Bulldogs 19-2. They have only played at Harrogate twice and have yet to pick up a win against them.
Last time out:
The Railsplitters are coming out of a long week off after a 15-10 win against Chowan.
Rhodes Conroy led the Railsplitters to the win having six of the 15 goals and three assists. He currently leads the year with 19 goals and 13 assists.
Francis O'Hara and
Gavin Reid follow close behind with 16 each.
Jordan Sullivan and
Michael Rogers dominate on the defensive end, having 16 caused turnovers each, and have 53 ground balls combined.
Tyler Shea has a .413 save percentage on the year, having 50 saves so far and facing 207 shots.
Scouting Wingate
The Bulldogs only have one loss on the year to another ranked team, Mercyhurst University, 16-13. They are coming off two conference wins against #17 Newberry, beating them 16-14 and Catawba 15-8.
They are led by Senior Midfielder Danny Riley, who has 28 goals, 16 assists, and 26 ground balls. He is followed by Marc Cottage Jr, who has 20 goals, and Joey Moran, who has 19 goals. Willie Grieco also has 19 goals and leads with 31 assists.
Defensively they are led by sophomore Peyton Farley, who has 15 caused turnovers. In the faceoff, they have James Kotcamp, who is 81-145 (.559%).
Their starting goalkeeper is Johnny Caponi, who has allowed 75 goals but has 81 saves (.519%).
