The Lincoln Memorial softball team earned the No. 3 seed in the upcoming South Atlantic Conference tournament and will play No. 6 seed Catawba in the first round on Thursday at 3 p.m. in Hickory, N.C.
 
The Lady Railsplitters (31-22, 15-9 SAC) filed in behind No. 1 seed Wingate (18-6 SAC) and No. 2 seed Lenoir-Rhyne (16-8 SAC) and will play in the pod hosted by the Bears. The opening round games are scheduled to take place Thursday through Saturday before the winners of each pod will face off on May 3 and 4.
 
Lincoln Memorial swept a doubleheader at Catawba back on March 18, taking the first game 6-5 over the Indians and shutting them out in the second game 5-0.
 
Head coach Ritchie Richardson's team is the reigning SAC Tournament champions after defeating Carson-Newman 9-7 in last year's championship game in Harrogate.
