The Lincoln Memorial softball team is set to play No. 1 seed Wingate in the South Atlantic Conference Tournament championship series on Wednesday and Thursday in North Carolina.

The No. 3 seed Lady Railsplitters (34-22) are coming off a weekend when they beat No. 6 seed Catawba (8-6) and No. 2 seed Lenoir-Rhyne twice (10-5 and 4-1) to win the opening round pod hosted by the Bears.

Lincoln Memorial and Wingate are scheduled to begin the best-of-3 series on Wednesday at 1 p.m. The Railsplitters and Bulldogs are then scheduled for a noon first pitch on Thursday before another game following that if they split the first two games.

Wingate (43-12), ranked No. 17 in Tuesday's NFCA national poll, won the SAC regular season crown with an 18-6 conference record and advanced to the championship series thanks to a win over Anderson and two wins over Carson-Newman last weekend.

The two teams squared off in Harrogate to wrap up the regular season, as the Railsplitters took the first game 4-1 thanks to strong efforts from the battery duo of
Hayley Tamaro (complete game, no earned runs) and
McKenzie Henry (2-for-2, 4 RBI). Wingate pulled away in the second contest to win 8-2.
