Men Victorious in Wrestling Dual at Emory & Henry

Emory, VA- Both wrestling squads were on the road today, January 17th, for duels against the Wasps of Emory & Henry.

The women dropped a close one on Wednesday, losing the dual 18-26. Stephanie Castro would be the standout for the Lady Railsplitters on the night, winning her 136-pound match by a highest-scoring action tiebreaker.

The men would also be in a close one, prevailing against the Wasps 29-26. Porter Finstad would start the match strong in the 125-pound weight class, winning 16-1 by technical fall. Austin Vincent would take to the mat with the score 11-5 in favor of LMU, where he would extend the lead through the 149-pound weight class with a win by pin. After a win from Emory & Henry in the 157-pound weight class, Nicholas Krauss would swing the momentum back the Railsplitters way with his 165-pound weight class win by pin.  

The women will return to action on Sunday, January 21st, to compete in the Robert Horton Open hosted by Emmanuel University in Franklin Springs, GA. The men will be back on Friday, January 27th, for a dual against the University of Montevallo in Bristol, TN.
