Harrogate, TN - Fresh off of a 74-70 on the road at Newberry on Saturday, the 14th-ranked Lincoln Memorial men's basketball team is seeking its sixth consecutive conference victory of the season at home against the Tusculum Pioneers on Wednesday night.
Historically, the Railsplitters have dominated the series, holding a 32-4 all-time advantage in the series history. The last loss for Lincoln Memorial came in January of 2023, 80-78, at Tusculum. The Railsplitters have never lost at home, maintaining a 19-0 record all-time in Tex Turner Arena. The last match up was an emphatic victory for Lincoln Memorial on the road, taking an 85-71 victory.
On the season, Lincoln Memorial is averaging 84.1 points-per-game while limiting their opposition to 73.8 points-per-game, winning each game by an average of 10.3 points. The Railsplitters enter the contest with a 7-1 overall record, including an unblemished 5-0 mark in conference play. Tusculum enters the contest with a 3-8 record, including a 3-4 mark in conference play.
Lincoln Memorial has an exceptionally balanced offense, with nearly five players averaging double figures, led by defending SAC Freshman of the Year and last week's Player of the Week,
Wes Enis with 18 points and 4.8 rebounds-per-game. He is followed by newcomer
Elyjah Freeman who has exploded onto the scene averaging 14 points-per-game and a team-leading 6.6 rebounds-per-game.
EJ Smith, another freshman that has made his presence felt this season, is averaging 12.4 points-per-game along with a team-leading 3.2 assists-per-game. Seasoned veteran
Jordan Walters is averaging 10.8 points and 5.9 rebounds-per-game on the season. Big man
Osmar Garcia-Araujo is averaging
right at double figures scoring with 9.8 points-per-game and 3.3 rebounds-per-game.
