Softball Splits Games on Saturday

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Harrogate, TN- Lincoln Memorial Softball would split games on the Saturday portion of the Railsplitter Invitational.  The first game against Findlay would go the Railsplitters' way, 3-1, with the second against Purdue-Northwest ending in a final score of 4-7.

Lincoln Memorial would strike first in the 2 PM game, with Hannah Bogoski earning an RBI single the second inning to send Sterre den Duijn across the plate to grab an early 2-0 lead. A fourth inning answer from Findlay would close the gap to 2-1. Bogoski would earn a triple in the bottom half of the frame to help den Duijn to her second run of the day to extend the lead back to two runs. Bogoski would later cross the plate in the inning to round out the scoring on the game, and give the Railsplitters the win, 3-1.

The 6 PM game would feature LMU facing off with Purdue-Northwest. The Railsplitters would again be the first to score, gaining a 4-0 lead by the end of the fourth inning. This period would include RBI hits from Nicole Couvertiere and Hannah McMeen. A rally from Purdue-Northwest, however, would pair with several errors from Lincoln Memorial to allow back-to-back-to-back scoring innings to round out the game, leaving the final score at 4-7.

Lincoln Memorial falls to (1-2) on the season and will return to play tomorrow, Sunday, February 4th, for their final game of the Railsplitter Invitational against Ohio Dominican at 4 PM.
