Box Score Harrogate, TN- Thursday afternoon the Lincoln Memorial University women's team competed at the DeVos Tennis Center against Lee University. The Railsplitters fell to Lee University in a 5-2 deficit. The Lady Flames improved their record to 4-1, while the Lady Railsplitters fell to 2-5.
In the doubles matches, Adriana Pellizzari and Tania Sfilio were in a tight match-up against Ashleigh Simes and Maria Fernando. Sfilio and Pellizzari were not able to take the lead and lost 6-4. Carla Ramonet and Mar Garcia Bucosa performed in the No. 2 position and lost 6-1. The No. 3 doubles match between Elizaveta Gnilozubova and Hayden Smith against Railsplitters Rosalie Carrier-Dulac and Lucie Palud ended tied at 5-5 and remained unfinished.
Simes secured a 6-2, 6-2 win over Rosalie Carrier-Dulac at No. 1 singles, but the Lady Railsplitters leveled the team score to 1-1 in the No. 2 singles match when Adriana Pellizzari beat her opponent in two sets. In the No. 3 singles match, the Lady Flames withdrew the match, giving Sophia Aray a default win.
Lee University clinched a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Sfilio at No. 5 singles, giving Lee University a 3-2 lead. Carla Ramonet won her first set 7-6 after a 7-4 tiebreaker against Fernanda Duarte. However, her competitor bounced back to win the second set 6-0 and the third 6-2, securing the team victory.
The Lady Railsplitters will open SAC play at Anderson University on March 3rd.
